Complimenting this divine architectural works of creation, the most High God summarized that everything was made good. Since then, man has been given authority over all things to subdue the earth and have dominion over all living and non living things.

It was also God’s perfect design to allocate and position peoples in different locations and called such geographical entities or locations, - Nations. Trusting in divine providence, fate has made the Awanu descent to coexist in the aquatic abode as riparians. Environment, for sure, plays some significant influences in the lives of the people of any nation. This aquatic life style has made Wanu to learn a lot of things concerning their habitat. They have discovered developed maneuvered and were able to manipulate for comfort this strange world, this land, this house, our home, the treasure house of Awanu Nation.

The word ‘Awa’-means- the people of. The word ‘Anu’-means the river. Pedagogically, ‘Awa’ is a prefix, a word or phrasal-grammatical structure. ‘Anu’ is a suffix,- a word or phrasal-grammatical structure. So both ‘Awa’ and ‘Anu’ are affixes- a word, a noun, an adjective. Therefore, adding “Awa’ to ‘Anu’  will give birth to a people of the riverine area or abode known as Awanu or Wanu. That is the people, their world, their house, our home land.

Today, all over the world, nations boast of the comparative advantage they have over others. As a nation, there must be something to market in the world economy. Avrai dire, no nation is poor. Nations are all the time looking inward to tap their potentials for the benefit of its citizenry. Some nations use: human capital development, i.e the state of scientific and technological advancement attained, or man power, some make use of their mineral deposits or resources, to some is agricultural endowment, others are tourism, culture, commerce, textile etc. All these windows of opportunities, the Wanu Jukun, at their disposal are the blessings of nature. These privileges if property tapped and harnassed will improve better living and the land and the people will flourish. There will be no hunger and starvation, no idleness, no waywardness etc. So many social ills, political gansters shall all vanish from the land.

Now, let me show case, these bounties one after the other as basis for this argument. First and foremost, a bonafide Awanu person is well cultured. The person respects the norms, values, traditions of the land.  Very caring and loving with the fear of God. Highly disciplined and commands respect. Here, the Awanu Nation can be rated high, albeit traces of minuses as misdemeanours do surface from time to time, which are moral questions or issues.

Secondly, in the present dispensation, Awanu sons and daughters have made quantum leap in so many fields of human endeavours. As you peep through you will find them in the sciences, engineering, trade and commerce, education, law and administration, medicine, the cloth (evangelism) welfare, adventurism, art and culture, security, accounting and finance etc. All these form part-to -a whole of the treasure house of Awanu Nation.

Thirdly, the Awanu can also promenade about with their shoulder raised high bragging of resource control. Glad enough, Awanu are gradually discarding provincialism for pragmatism. Quick to discover that the treasure house which is the land, the home of Awanu people is endowed with so many mineral deposits or resources as solid wealth for them. In this itinerary of adventurism right from Agyaha west of Makurdi to Afubwoh., Agyateshi, Agyogo, Akatungu (Gungu), Amwo, Agbodo, Azyokoh-Abweni, Abise (Abinsi) Ashikuna, Anuhwah, Azyjamindo, Ando Sede, Banjimba, Ashuku, Andogboza (Gindin Mangoro) Akatsu, Asugu, Anyishi, Andonufo, Agbudu, Sufa, Tunga, Ando Kache, Chinkai, Ibi, Jibu, Dampar and even beyond are the territorial spaces or lands that belong to Wanu people. All these areas have one form of wealth deposit or the other. For instance, of high qualities and quantities are the spray of sharp sands and gravels, the lakes, the ponds, the meadows, the hays, sedimentary rocks, the hills, thick vegetations, the fertility of the soil for agricultural activities, undeveloped beaches and islands for tourism, school of fishes, attractive wild lives for game, food and sport. All these are embellished by the presence of the owners of the land the Awanu tribe of the Jukunoid.

A good and extensive research work will bring to the limelight the aesthetic values, the riches both human and material resources of the treasure house of the Awanu Nation. Enough of this pauper fever, vagabond-stigma. Let us tamp out vagaries, eliminate psychological phobia or, the fear of and about unknown etc. Awanu Nation is where we belong proper. It is our stamping ground. We all have a duty, a responsibility born out of true philosophy and a combined psychology to advance the cause of building a rich and prosperous nation in the Treasure House of the Awanu Nation.

Awanu ni gbagye wa an nghaa-nghaa. Shido  u bakwa yi gbo gbo-gbo-gbo.
