THE RADIANCE OF A KING BY HRH DR. SABO AJIDOKU EAMMANUEL

THE RADIANCE OF A KING BY HRH DR.  SABO AJIDOKU EAMMANUEL  Kingship is all about an exalted position of authority ascribed to a ruler with a dominion known as King. In Africa, the Mediterranean and beyond, Kings,  since antiquities held sway and administered justices in their various and respective domains. Kingship is hereditary and restrictively reserved for consanguinity. It is traceable to a genealogy of prolonged rulership. And this mainly rotates or circulates within the members of the aristocracy. Slaves, children of paternal questionings and those other prohibitions cannot aspire to be King no matter years of stay or service. The nobility of highly placed Kings and Queens runs as follows, since the days of premier aristocrats: King David, King Solomon, the Kings of England, the Kings of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kings of ancient Egypt, the Sultanate, the King Jaja of Opobo, King Kosoko, the Kings of Ashanti, Bini Kings, Aku Uka etc. Also, the Queens t...

COCK CROW AT DAWN BY HRH DR SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL

COCK CROW AT DAWN BY HRH DR SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL The cock is a brave, honest and fearless bird. It is courageous, super-productive, sensitive and responsive. Just imagine the hour of its start-routine duty. Right, imagine, at night, when the dark streets become menacing to all creatures, the cock is the only creature that triumphantly first, announces the break of dawn. This cry or sound of kokorokoo or kukurukuu is a heralding, beckoning, awakening and consciousness-raising signals to homo-sapiens, animals and other creatures in this terrestrial life from slumber. When the cock crows at dawn every responsible person is supposed to wake up and rise to responsibility. Cook crow at dawn is invariably an alarm clock-like device of time and timing. This is an indisputable truth that appeals to consciousness. It therefore reminds or calls to order for all to get ready to start another day’s chores or activities. Cock crow at dawn, apart from its first application of word or phrase gro...

ABINSI: A BRIDE OF THREE BIASED CONTENDING SUITORS FOR MARRIAGE BY HRH DR. SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL  Ferdinand Oyono, the Cameroonian novelist, presented in his book, titled: “Trois Pretendants un Mari”, a vivid description of a bride who is in a confusion of who to marry, as a husband, out of the three suitors asking for her hand in marriage. Wealth, education, good character and position etc form part of the intrigues. This, in a stylish pattern, leads us to almost similar situation in which Abinsi, a bride is entangled in a choice of who to be the husband, amidst three biased contending suitors for marriage. Strategically, located on a trunk ‘A’ road along Makurdi-Gboko transit route is the town Abinsi, a bride of three biased contending suitors salivating and out doing one another in order to woo her for marriage. Abinsi, in a shape comparison, is just like the Queen of Sheba whose prowess, wealth and beauty endear her to those who ask for her hand in marriage. Here is the p...

GIRAFFING INTO OTHER WORLD FAITH BASED GROUPS: ASHUKU CULT-A TRIBUTE TO THE DEAD IN A TYPICAL JUKUN WANU TRADITIONAL WAKE-KEEP BY HRH DR SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL

GIRAFFING INTO OTHER WORLD FAITH BASED GROUPS:  ASHUKU CULT-A TRIBUTE TO THE DEAD IN A TYPICAL  JUKUN WANU TRADITIONAL WAKE-KEEP BY  HRH DR SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL   CAUTION  For those who will find it strange, shocking and scaring the use of the word ‘cult’ can avail themselves by consulting the dictionary for some clarifications. This shall set them free from any conniption and allied phobia associated with the somewhat dreaded word –CULT. Over times, death has become part of the human society. While reflecting on the scenario, that in which Adam and Eve transgressed the Divine law, by eating the forbidden fruit. It was an injunction, an interdict by God, warning them of the danger or the repercussion of the impending doom, or consequence (i.e death) that will manifest, if they faulted the order. But these occupants of the Garden, chose the recalcitrant way. Consequent upon this transgression, they were driven out of the Garden of Eden. This memorab...

BURKUTU (ASHA): THE NATIVE LIQUOR  OF THE JUKUN PEOPLE BY YAKUBU USENI. It is called "Asha"by the Jukun-Wanu of Benue State, and "Acin" by Jukun-Wapan of Taraba State, and popularly known as BURKUTU by all the ethnic nationalities that consume it. The essence of this article is not eulogize BURKUTU or encourage its excessive intake because It is alcohol base and can intoxicate anyone who takes it, but to uphold it's importance and centrality to the Jukun culture, tradition and economy. Prior to the advent of the foreign liquor, burkutu the native drink was and is still pivotal to the Jukun people. HYPOCRISY: IS IT LOVE OR INFATUATION? BY HRH DR. SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL

HYPOCRISY: IS IT LOVE OR INFATUATION? BY HRH DR. SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL  The legendry Bob Marley and the Wailers in one of their musical albums, gave a graphic metallic exposure of hypocrites. Hypocrites are a bunch of pretenders in terms of morality. We are all involved. It is not a question of professional politicians. As human beings by our nature, we are all political animals. As such we dabble in one form of politics or the other. Poverty, illiteracy, mischief, ignorance, have aggravated hypocrisy as a stamped indelible psychological malady in humans and the society in which we live. In a chameleonic structured and powered metamorphosis and invisibility, the moral behaviour of a Being referred to as human, becomes a very debatable hoodoo. Since the fall of man in the garden of Eden, man has parted ways with fidelity and is completely stucked in this mud of hypocrisy. This one time refined and adorable creature, has become a shadow of itself. The much talked about man’s in...

THE BRIDE: COURTSHIP BETROTHAL MARRIAGE IN A TYPICAL TRADITIONAL JUKUN WANU DOMAINS BY HRH DR SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL

THE BRIDE: COURTSHIP BETROTHAL MARRIAGE IN A TYPICAL TRADITIONAL JUKUN WANU DOMAINS  BY HRH DR SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL Way back in the Garden of Eden was the premier marriage contract between Adam and Eve.  There is no any record somewhere yet, as regards courtship, betrothal before the marriage actually took place. All there is to remember today; they got married through the instrumentality of the divine declaration by or of God the creator of heaven and earth. Soon afterwards, the society grew bigger and the earth inhabitants began to reproduce and multiply. Peoples were seen establishing nations, kingdoms, empires, towns and villages. The world population began to surge as a result of procreation via the institution of marriage between a man and a woman. This union must satisfy certain basic requirements to authenticate its legitimacy. Thus the ordinances and the laws of a given society, a community of varied cultures and traditions must be respected. At this, junct...

A NEW NIGERIA IS POSSIBLE: A CASE FOR THE KWARARAFA ETHNIC NATIONALITIES TO REUNITE FOR A GOAL. BY YAKUBU USENI

A NEW NIGERIA IS POSSIBLE: A CASE FOR THE KWARARAFA ETHNIC NATIONALITIES TO REUNITE FOR A GOAL. BY YAKUBU USENI Kwararafa Empire as fondly and popularly referred to, was formally known and called Apa-Jukun Empire. The name came as a result of her military expeditions to the far Northern Nigeria particularly Kano and other Hausa States that were hit by the attacks gave rise to the name "Kwararafa". For instance, when the Kwararafa Empire launched attacks on Kano, Katsina and Zaria, in one of the attacks  according to history, the entire Kano city was completely plundered and it's inhabitants  scampered  seeking for refuge in Daura  now Katsina State. As the inhabitants of Kano were fleeing for their dear-lives,  a question was put to them in Hausa dialect; what happened (me ya faru)? "an Koro  mu" meaning we have been chased away was their response hence the name "Kwararafa or Kororofa." As the case may be.  See Kano Chronicles as  Translated...

NAJUWA ON A SHIP TO SHORE DISPENSE BY HRH DR SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL

NAJUWA ON A SHIP TO SHORE DISPENSE BY HRH DR SABO AJIDOKU EMMANUEL This ardent observer-admirer of the National Association of Jukun Wanu; acronym, NAJUWA has liken the formation to be a group of dynamic sailors on a very serious mission. While the sea poses as an albatross, these determined navigators have mounted the sail aboard, AAS-Abura Abada ship of redemption. Thus breaking the jinx of triumphalism as the ship jinks away and thunders on. Just as in a single shout of command, nature, even being convinced of this worthwhile outing, surmounts any outlandish mannerisms. This insistent nature, lubricates, propels and facilitates this inevitable and timely interceptor. It is (indeed) a moving vehicle of the people’s redemption. As you journey a long, NAJUWA, do consider that in this era of science and technology, communication is very key for any meaningful development. People will be much happier when some consumable pieces of information are disseminated. You have been doin...
